When normal, well-adjusted people (and also many archaeologists) think about archaeology, the first things they consider are the artifacts – the finds.

Finds are important – they provide evidence that helps to tell the story of the site. But they also exist in a context. What other finds are they related to? Where do they appear on the site, and in what numbers?

Likewise with the artifacts in my portfolio. I want to show you the artifact itself, but equally importantly I want to put it in its proper context.

So in this section you’ll see 12 artifacts arranged according to the three goals I set myself. For each, you’ll see a brief description, the artifact itself, and a reflection on what it means in the context of my learning journey, and my next steps.
